On October 4, 2006, the President of Panama, his excellency Mr. Martín Torrijos met with Grupo Mall representatives and openly showed his support for the project that is being developed by the Spanish company in Panama.

During the meeting, Grupo Mall unveiled the marquee development to a group of 600 national and international guests.

The groundbreaking first stone ceremony took place on October 6, 2006. This great impact on society brought together major figures such as the Vice President of the Republic of Panama, the Mayor of the city, the tourism minister, the minister of housing, Minister of Public Works, the Spanish Ambassador and other officials of the Panamanian government, as well as a large group of investors, national and international consultants.

This was the starting point for the construction of the emblematic and singular complex, Los Faros de Panama.
